General Location Laurel is located in the northeastern corner of Nebraska at the junction of U.S. Highway 20 and Nebraska Highway 15 in the lush, rolling hills of Nebraska’s richest farmland. Laurel is centrally located in a tri-state area with Sioux City, Iowa 42 miles east; Norfolk, Nebraska 42 miles southwest; and Yankton, South Dakota, 54 miles northwest of the community.

Education

The Laurel-Concord School District #54 has a K-12 enrollment of about 480 students. The school is North Central & state accredited for grades K-12. Laurel-Concord offers a wide range of curriculum and extracurricular activities. Educational Service Unit #1 at Wakefield, Nebraska, provides additional services for Laurel-Concord Schools.

The Providence Medical Center is a 30-bed acute hospital bed facility located at Wayne. With 24-hour emergency room service as well as specialty clinics (i.e., OBG/GYN; orthopedics oncology, heart, urology, cardiac; surgery)

Providence Therapy Clinic
Offering physical, occupational and speech therapy, the Providence Therapy Clinic is the FIRST Therapy center in the City of Laurel, the FIRST free-standing satellite facility for Providence Medical Center and, to date, the FIRST clinic of it's kind between Laurel and Yankton to offer aquatic therapy.

Academy of Natural Healing Arts
Located at 301 Hwy 15 East, the Academy of Natural Healing Arts offers a suite of services for those who elect natural therapies non-harmful to the body.
